Why the heck did you decide to design a boys' fashion brand?
Market research (Identifying that I'm not alone!)

When I first became a mum to first boy Luka, I finally understood what all my mum clients were telling me about how much they hated shopping for boys clothing, especially for photoshoots. I wanted on trend and high-quality clothing for my boys that also reflected our personal styles. I always found myself disappointed and frustrated by the limited options available. It seemed like every store I visited had a vast selection of cute and trendy clothing for girls, but the boys' section was often an afterthought. The clothing was either covered in cartoon characters, sports logos, or generic slogans that didn't reflect my boys' unique personalities.

And I know that I, and all the boy mums that came before me, we are not alone in my sharing this frustration. When I shared my thoughts about this on Tik Tok, it actually went viral! And I can guess that if you have arrived on my website and reading this blog, you have also had the same thought.

Designing a brand identity and logo

With the understanding that there was a need for a boys' clothing brand, I knew that differentiation would be key to standing out in a crowded market. To achieve this, I focused on three main aspects: design, quality, and messaging.

Design-wise, I aimed to create clothing that was not only stylish but also unique. I wanted my designs to reflect the interests and personalities of boys, rather than relying on generic themes. This meant exploring a wide range of colors, patterns, and prints that would appeal to both boys and their parents.

In terms of quality, I was determined to provide clothing that would withstand the rough and tumble of boys' everyday adventures. I sourced high-quality fabrics and worked closely with manufacturers who shared my commitment to durability and longevity.

Lastly, I knew that effective messaging would be crucial in differentiating my brand from competitors. I wanted to create a brand that resonated with parents and reflected their values. By highlighting the importance of individuality, self-expression, and confidence, I was able to position my brand as more than just clothing - it was a statement of empowerment for boys.
